One Guy's Garage 8th Annual Drag Weekend 2023 official rules and travel info.

Drag Weekend is a three-day event where you drive your street car (race vehicle) to a different drag strip each day, race at each track and the racer who collects the best average ET and survives the road wins for all classes except the Street Eliminator Bracket Class. The Street Eliminator Bracket Class will use their best slips from the first two days to average their time as a dial in for a bracket race to decide on the winner on Sunday.

2023 Rules and Regulations:

Must have MT tires to collect bonus money payouts in each class.

Five classes will be run.

Stick Shift

-H-pattern

-Leg activated clutch

Street Eliminator Bracket Class

- No cars quicker than 10.00 (you must turn in time slips at 10.00 or slower) Class limited to 16 cars.

- No throttle stops

- Your dial in for the Sunday bracket race will be your Friday and Saturday best run average.

Factory Street

-Bolt on suspension components only

-Absolute full interior

-Stock material body panels and glass, aftermarket hood ok

-Full exhaust with mufflers exiting behind the rear axle

-17" or larger wheel required.

-Twin turbo max compressor inducer diameter 58mm

-Single turbo max compressor inducer diameter 76mm, S400 or larger not allowed. Small frame T4 flange or smaller only.

-Bolt on style superchargers, Procharger D1 or smaller

-Single plate or nozzle nitrous system only.

True Street

-Stock style front suspension.

-Full interior, rear seat delete ok but must be finished appearance

-Two seats and door panels required

-Max amount of two fiberglass panels

-Max amount of two lexan windows

-Mufflers required on all combos, turbo(s) accepted as muffler

-Twin turbo max compressor inducer diameter 66mm

-Single turbo max compressor inducer diameter 88mm

-Procharger F2 or smaller models

-Single nitrous system only.

Outlaw Street

-Anything goes

-1/8 mile. All other classes 1/4 mile.

General Rules for One Guys Garage Drag Weekend:

1. All cars and drivers must meet participating track rules and regulations. Your three-day average will determine your position in all classes except the 10.00 index. All rulings of any track official are final. Vehicles must be street legal, licensed, and insured for highway use.
2. Rules will be enforced and are subject to change.
3. The total mileage for the route is approximately 480 miles.
4. Drag tires are recommended for racing. You can either make the trip driving on them or change them at the track. Drag tires are defined as 100 tread wear rating or lower numerically. Radials, bias ply slicks, etc., just no hard as a rock street tires tearing up the racing surface. I would advise changing to a dedicated drag tire. The track operators and other racers appreciate it. Hard street tires tear the rubber off the track and create bald spots.
5. You are not allowed to tow your race vehicle from track to track. You have to carry anything you will need for the weekend in or on your race vehicle or pull a trailer with your race vehicle. No size restrictions on the trailer you can pull.

We are not regulating the vehicles your family or friends may be following along with. We welcome and encourage you to bring them to this event. If your race vehicle has to go onto a trailer or be towed, you will be disqualified. Towing one mile or less is allowed to move a disabled vehicle off the roadway to a safe spot. It must run 100% of the time on its own power. Pushing by hand is accepted.

2023 WEEKEND SCHEDULE

Friday, September 22rd:

Drivers Meeting

10am – Drivers Meeting required to be attended by all participants and the official start from Tri State Raceway, Earlville, IA

4 pm – Arrive at Cordova Dragway

5 pm – Gates open and open racing at Cordova Dragway ($30 for car/driver and $15 for spectators)

Friday night hotel – TBD

Saturday, September 23rd:

8 am – Byron Dragway

Saturday night hotel - TBD

Parking lot party in the evening so be sure to pack a chair to sit in and stop to grab your favorite beverage on your way to the hotel.

Sunday, September 24th:

7:30 am - Leaving hotel to head to Tri State Raceway. ($100 for car/driver and $15 for spectators)

TBD - Awards to follow racing and everyone is welcome to head home from Tri State Raceway after the awards.
